Gaana is a style of music in Tamil music, originating in Tamil Nadu, India. Songs initially started for praising the remembrance of deceased persons and livelihood biography and gradually evolved into social reformer strategical songs in the recent years. Vairamuthu is one of the leading lyricists of Gaana, with thousands of song lyrics to their credit.^[1]
